Discover a rich library of UTZON lectures where you'll hear from more than 50 world leaders in cities and the built environment.
The Utzon Lectures are UNSW Built Environment’s public lecture series. They were launched in 2010 by architect and UNSW alum Jan Utzon, the son of Danish architect and designer of the Sydney Opera House Jørn Utzon AC.
Over the past twelve years we have welcomed over 50 architects, designers, industry experts and researchers from around the world to give Utzon Lectures at UNSW. In 2022, the Utzon Lecture Collective was born to make this rich collection of knowledge accessible in a single location on-line.
We also welcomed two new Utzon lecturers in 2022. Pulitzer Prize-winning architect Alison Killing, presented how she used maps, satellite imagery and architectural knowledge in an investigation of Xinjiang’s network of detention camps. Roberts and Co CEO Alison Mirams presented work she has been leading in the construction industry to change its culture through empowering women and disrupting the traditions associated with the sector.
